So I’ve had this piece for several years.

    Blackmagic
    DeckLink 4K Extreme 12G
Capture and playback 12G-SDI in SD, HD, Ultra HD and 4K DCI up to 4096 x 2160 60p in 10-bit YUV or 12-bit RGB!

Used for outputting 4k 60 to an external reference monitor. Ever since ae cc came out it causes after effects to severely slow down and is extremely laggy in terms of playback (also happens with premiere).

So, since I have 2 video cards for gpu rendering I thought I could use one output for monitoring. Same thing happens. Any ideas? Really annoying having to spend hours time rendering to review a scene for 10 seconds to only make changes and waste several more hours.

I would also mention it works fine with DaVinci and since blackmagic only offers support for their software (although the hardware states compatibility with ae cc) I get no success speaking with them.
