  Rounded blocky background effect

  I’m trying to create a background made up of rounded and joined blocks like this image. Could it be done through tweaking a turbulent noise? I really want to get the nice curves between the blocks.

  Median filter with large enough a radius over sharp-cornered squares will do that.

  Thanks for another pointless comment on the forum Dave. I know this might be expecting a too much from you, but in the future could you elaborate on your responses, flesh them out a little. Turbulent Noise has rather a lot of variables which allows for a large number of outcomes.
