Hi there. I have this shot from “Christmas Vacation” and I’m trying to put my own footage in the place what’s being projected. I’ve tried doing motion tracking, but my overlay never seems to line up. Any ideas on how to best accomplish this?

Have you tried just tracking the cloth next to the image. That sharp dark crease should give you a good enough track. just start at the end of the clip where everything in frame and track backwards. Then make a null apply the data to that and parent your footage to the null and then move it into place. I just tried it using that gif and it seems to work.

I had tried it, but not tracking backwards. I’ll give it a go and see what happens!! Thanks.

Also, what are you using to do the tracking? Mocha does a good job of tracking when things go off the screen.
