  • Mesh warp stopped applying its effect on the comp

Posted by Claris Delgado on December 5, 2018 at 11:22 am

The most weird thing has happenned: I had rendered this project last week, and the warp worked. I closed the project and opened it today to continue (no changes were done to it in the meantime, i.e. warp and the rest were totally untouched) just to see how the warp is not applied! The mesh is still there, it is deforming (keyframes are there and working on the mesh), but the effect is just not being transferred to a precomp! Effects are not de-activated, and rendering does not differ from the preview: no warping! I tried to google, but there is zero info. Any help, pleaaase?

Forgot to mention: adjusting the mesh warp quality to low values does not help.
Interestingly, the mesh works on the full layer transform: i.e., by moving the mesh as a whole, the layer is also moving as a whole object. It’s the deformations that stopped working.

Was it by any chance turned off in the effects tab?

Hi Cassius, thanks for asking, but no ☹
I applied a new mesh warp and put a new animation, that worked.
Still no clue what was with the original, but I kept the copy of this bugged file, in case the mystery will ever be solved…

Are you actually using time remapping? That would be my first suspect.
