I’m working with test equirectangular monoscopic 360 footage (from the Ricoh Theta) in the VR comp editor, and all is well. But now, the client is requesting that the images (not yet shot) *pan* only, cylindrical, with no tilt function.

How can I make this happen in the VR Comp Editor?
Do I crop the original footage before import, or is there a cylindrical function in the VR Comp Editor that I haven’t found yet?
Or does it need to be shot “cylindrical” in the first place?
Or is there a more appropriate tool, not AE?

    Thanks very much.

Hey, Dave, thanks for the hello — hope you’re well.

Yeah, I think our spherical-to-cylindrical VR problem falls between the cracks, and I might have to figure it out for myself. I’ll cross-post over at the VR forum.

(Heh — Argos are always a longshot!)

    Cheers,
    Steve
