  • Rotating Vector shapes simultaneously?

After using the “create Shape from vector layer” command, I have over 100 unnamed layers. Im trying to rotate layers 51 – 83 in the same circle radius. But I can’t seem to select them all and then rotate them all at the same time.. is there any way I can merge the vector layers in after effects? They are properly grouped in the original ai file but they came over as all separate elements in after effects

Edit: I figure it out! I had the elements in groups instead of layers, doh

The easiest way is to put the paths you want to rotate into a single layer inside illustrator (not groups, separate them into layers). That will import as layers in AE.

You can also use scripts (1) to “explode” them in AE, meaning the automation of ungrouping all those 100 layers…you can then group the ones you want and rotate them.

Both 1: Explode Shape Layers and Overlord are precious tools while working with verctor between illustrator and AE.
