  How to make tail light trail effect

  I was wondering how to do the effect as seen in this video at 2:52 where when the car brakes, the tail lights light up and a trail follows it

  its a bit heavy on the render, but the easiest way would be to mask out the area around the lights and then use echo with a screen or add to cover up the rest of the car..by crushing the black…did i need to say that..
