After effects crashes when importing any and only videos
Hi guys,
Please help me, I search every where before posting this, but no luck.
I am stuck with AE as it works fine before, but now it is crashing when importing videos at any format, it doesn’t crash when importing images, I can work fine with all the functions.
I tried both command + I, or drag and drop, or File > Import file from top menu, all same … it crashing.
I have Mac OS X
I uninstall it all with preferences and install it again, and again same thing, crashing on importing any video even small one.
By the way, I can open old files that already have videos imported and nothing happened, but when I import any video even the same video was imported before it crashing again.
It is very strange situation, and I got stuck with current work.
Please help …

I updated it last month and then it started crashing, but I uninstalled it and install it again with no luck

I downloaded Adobe After Effects CC 2017.2 (14.2.1) from Adobe and installed it, before that I uninstalled 2018 with preferences
Then when I launched 2017 I got these errors and then AE quits, here are the errors shows while opening:
After Effects error: couldn’t find main entry point for Mthread.plugin ( 48 :: 72 )
After Effects error: couldn’t find main entry point for AEGDriver.plugin ( 48 :: 72 )
After Effects error: couldn’t find main entry point for PS Layer Export.plugin ( 48 :: 72 )
After Effects error: couldn’t find main entry point for PS Layer Import.plugin ( 48 :: 72 )
After Effects error: couldn’t find main entry point for EasyEase.plugin ( 48 :: 72 )
After Effects error: couldn’t find main entry point for ExpScale.plugin ( 48 :: 72 )
After Effects error: couldn’t find main entry point for Sequence.plugin ( 48 :: 72 )
After Effects error: couldn’t find main entry point for TRKey.plugin ( 48 :: 72 )
After Effects error: Tracker_Register: missing suite ( 1 :: 0 )

On the PC side there was the first version of AE2018 called R15.00 or .01. If you can get the Mac equivalent it still allowed all the old codecs to work properly.

I am updating the os x system now, it seems there is a securety update, I don’t know what is that, but since 5 hours still updating the system, it seems it is going thru each and every single file in my hd, I hope it’s not stalling on updating.
Maybe after finishing updating the system, AE will work again, I hope.
