RE:Vision Effects – RSMB V7 is here!

ReelSmart Motion Blur 7 is here, the RSMB V7 cycle is open. ReelSmart Motion Blur™ is the original and still standing way to add motion blur to your image sequences.

RSMB + Vectors: Add Motion Blur from externally generated motion vectors sequence* Depth Sorted Motion Blur: This now works much better when there is fast motion (i.e. large occlusion) and simplifies not having to use a many layer workflow.  Reminder: For those using Blender renderer that unfortunately does not support our MV format, we offer a companion MV Convert plugin for free.

RSMB Regular: Apply natural looking motion blur by tracking each pixel

* We added options for tracking Previous vs Next Frame in all hosts. This feature is already in OpenFX version. This might be useful for a set of shots like a drone going up looking down vs the reverse, which view shows more of the current frame.

RSMB Pro: Apply natural looking motion blur by tracking each pixel with layering options (mattes). Also works with 2D shapes (in AE and Fusion) and point tracking guidance.

*We added an option to Boost Alpha which helps for very large blurs (very fast motion or large MB amount) as in this case we have no appropriate background info under and being too transparent does not always look good.

SMB Regular license works with After Effects, Autograph, Catalyst Edit, Diamant and Dustbuster+, Final Cut Pro, HitFilm, Motion, Natron, Premiere Pro, Resolve, and Vegas Pro.

RSMB Pro license works with After Effects, Autograph, Baselight, Diamant and Dustbuster+, Final Cut Pro, Flame, Fusion Studio, Grass Valley Rio, HitFilm, Media Composer, Motion, Mistika, Natron, Nucoda, Nuke, Premiere Pro, Resolve, Scratch, and Silhouette. Pro license also works with regular product of any supported host.

RSMB is $109.65 and RSMB PRO is $169.95. Regular upgrade is $39.95, PRO upgrade is $49.95. We also offer render-only, floating licenses, volume and educational discounts. Contact sales@revisionfx.com for more info.

Last pay-for upgrade was 2018 (that’s Pre-Catalina on Mac, final version of RSMB 6 fixes issues in Apple Golden Gate). Remember in download sections, there is a Download Previous Versions link. But no worry, people who bought RSMB 6 in last month have been auto updated to version 7 (download and go) and everyone who bought Effections since September 2025, just download and nothing else to do, it should just work. People who have PRO Floating, (including via Effections Plus Floating) contact us when needed to upgrade your lic file. Projects saved with V6 (or v5) should load without issues in V7.
