iZotope Joins Boris FX

iZotope, the team behind RX and Ozone, is joining Boris FX. A letter from founder Boris Yamnitsky on what it means for the tools you rely on

I’m thrilled to share that iZotope, one of the most respected names in professional audio and the company behind RX and Ozone, is joining Boris FX.

If you work in post-production, there’s a good chance iZotope is already part of your daily toolset. RX is the industry-standard repair tool editors and audio engineers reach for when deadlines loom, and the dialogue isn’t quite ready. But RX is just the beginning. iZotope builds intelligent tools across all of audio production, including Ozone for mastering and a full suite for mixing, vocal processing, and metering. Bringing iZotope into Boris FX means the tools you use to finish a project — both picture and sound — are now built under the same roof by people who sweat every frequency and every pixel.

That’s what makes this so exciting to me. For thirty years, Boris FX has built tools such as Continuum, Sapphire, and Mocha Pro for professionals who can’t afford to compromise. Both companies share the same commitment to craft and a refusal to compromise. Our paths even crossed at the 2019 Engineering Emmy Awards, where iZotope was honored for RX and Boris FX was recognized for Sapphire, Mocha Pro, and Silhouette.

I want to be clear about what this means for the Boris FX Suite of tools you rely on: our commitment to Sapphire, Continuum, Mocha Pro, Silhouette, SynthEyes, and the rest remains unchanged. We are not pivoting away from VFX or video editing. We’re expanding our mission into the other half of post-production. A stronger, bigger Boris FX means more investment in everything we make.

iZotope is known for its smart and practical use of AI. Combined with Boris FX’s deep expertise in AI-driven audio and video tools, we’re positioned to move faster, innovate further, and create even more powerful tools for creative professionals.

You’ve seen us do this before. Over the past decade, we’ve welcomed Imagineer, GenArts, Silhouette, and others into the family. Each time, those tools didn’t just keep going; they got better. iZotope is the next chapter in our story, and certainly one of the most significant.

My vision has always been a Boris FX where everything you see and everything you hear is handled by tools built to the same uncompromising standard. With iZotope, we’re closer to that than we’ve ever been.
