  retaining full media when making Merged Clips

  Hi,

  I have to make some merged clips by marking In points on picture/sound rushes and syncing on the In points (theres no other way to automate this sync unfortunately). But when I do this, the merged clip produced only contains picture and sound media from the In point onwards. Is it possible to retain all the media BEFORE the In point (so I can retain the full slate call), thus only using the In point as a sync point and not as an actual In point?
