Iʻm asking if iOS 26.0.1 is good to go for FCP11 on my Max Studio running Sequoia 15.6.1, as well as on my iPhone 13 and iPad? I don’t like surprises.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi, Ken. On a 2020 iMac (Intel), it’s been OK through all the update until 11. 2. Now all projects having missing source files which reside on external hard drives, except for my recent 1st/only with 11.2, the source files are there, but edited timeline was gone. So I redid it. All previous 11.2 projects, have missing source files & mostly not showing at all (see screenshot). I reinstalled 11.1 without resolution. Fortunately I saved my finished project for publishing, but any future re/edits may require a start from scratch. Also considering a new Mac in 2026 and run FC on it. I also recently added Webroot anti virus, but can’t see it having to do with missing files. See pre-11.2 projects & 1st 11.2 where the source files show, but timeline was gone & I had to recreate it. I’m a novice with FCPro and use it about once a quarter for simple personal projects. Keith Examples: https://www.youtube.com/@KeithKaters

It seems all good here. New or old projects, no problems so far.

The only thing is, I am not sure about this glassy, glossy design. It feels as if it is the first days of user interface designs, not old but ugly, primitive design, that’s what makes me feel.

Has anybody had issues with clips and transitions? I seem to have certain type of clips right next to each other on the timeline and I can’t get them to transition together. My second issue is my timeline suddenly shrinks down. I know the shortcut shift Z brings my timeline to fit in the window, but sometimes it does that on its own. I don’t know what I’m hitting that’s doing. My biggest issue is the transitions

I’m on am M1 Pro Max MBP and I have pretty much no issues with FCP 11.2 on macOS 26. There’s a slight hesitation when switching between apps I never had before, but nothing that has me worried. Works just fine here. And all of my work is on a 32TB external HDD RAID.

BUT, that said, ALWAYS make backups of your Libraries and the FCP app itself before doing a major upgrade.
