  Help needed with cube mapping

  I’m working on a project for a client where I need to create animations for the inside of a cube equipped with LED screens.
  The animations need to be delivered in the pixel map below.

  Since this is meant to be an immersive experience, I want each panel to seamlessly flow into the next. This doesn’t happen when I animate directly in the pixel map.
  Is there a way to create cube mapping in After Effects so that Side A connects properly with Side B, and Side C with Side D? (see image below)

  I’ve already tried the VR Converter effect. This works in theory, but it causes a distortion that is not desirable in a LED cube setup.

  Hi.

   

  I’ve done this before and it becomes a hassle. When pixels flow from one LED to the other, they look strange because they follow the x & y – you actually need to distort each side to fool the viewer of an illusion.

   

  So distort your content like so across the screens in order for it to look straight.

  If you create an VR 3D environment in After Effects, what it actually does is create 6 duplicate comps with cameras pointed in the different directions. The script then takes these comps and places them together in the final render comp. So, you can explore the folder created in the project panel, you’ll find the top, bottom and side comps which you can then arrange in your own pixel map comp.
