  Error launching even though I’d just been using it!

  I was using AE, and doing a bit of probably-heavy-CPU-work, and it crashed. This happened twice. I then tried reopening AE, but get this error:

  But, like I said, I had <i style=”font-weight: bold;”>literally JUST been using it.

  It’s After Effects (v 25.1)

  I’m using MacOS Sonoma 14.6.1

  Might be a corrupted preferences file. I would try these steps.

  To delete After Effects preferences on startup, <mark>hold down the Ctrl + Alt + Shift keys on Windows or Command + Option + Shift on Mac while launching the application</mark>; this will prompt a dialog box asking if you want to delete the preference file, where you can click “OK” to reset to default settings.
