  Use particular color of a layer as alpha

  Hi,

  I have an animation with red shapes over a white background that is one layer above footage. How can I make the red part of the animation transparent while keeping the white part so that the red part serves as a “window” into the film?

  Set Matte effect might be a bit easier and faster.
