  hold frame icon appears flipped/backwards i.e. hold then linear out.

  weird thing i’ve never encountered with a hold frame on a layer (jpg in this case):
  instead of usual hold icon with 1/2 diamond left side (linear in) and then square right side (hold) it is appearing opposite/backwards with square left side and 1/2 diamond right side, which results in linear movement along the timeline!
  and it gets curiouser: if i paste a normal hold frame from another layer into the jpg layer, it still flips to that opposite/backwards hold!! and- where we would usually get a complete square hold icon after the first linear in/hold icon, this will create a square BEFORE the opposite/backwards hold frame!

  Time is running backwards for that layer, because you have “Time-Reverse Layer” enabled for it — note the blue/gray marks at the bottom of the layer.

  Select the layer and press Ctrl+Alt+R (Windows) or Command+Option+R (macOS) to toggle Time Reverse.
