Illustrator artboard cut when importing in AE
Hi,
When I am creating a Full HD artboard in Illustrator and some of elements are going out of my artboard, I need to resize my artboard to fit all my elements. Screen
If I will not do this, when importing my artboard to AE, my elements will be cut. ScreenRecently, I’ve got an artboard that my AE don’t cut. It looks like this – Here
I really want to know how to make my artboards not cut in AE. Thanks

They’re not really cut but being masked. So many questions that I’d need to ask first as to how your prepping, importing, etc. that the best way would simply to have you watch this first:

Short answer is that anytime you have artwork going outside of the artboard (which you do) or have any element that isn’t 100% opaque, the artboard will import as well & act as a mask.

no need a special tutorial for this, simply look at the Ae resource page for preparing your artwork:

“Create your document in Illustrator using one of the Video And Film document profiles. In addition to creating a document at the appropriate size for video or film work, this creates a document with two artboards: one at the appropriate frame size, and one much larger. When you bring such a document into After Effects, the area outside the smaller artboard isn’t cropped and lost; it’s retained outside of the composition frame. This only works for an Illustrator document with multiple layers imported as a composition.”
so the answer is very simple. create another artboard that is bigger than the original one and contains all the art. in Ae it won’t be cut. just make sure the artboard size and reference points are whole numbers to avoid ant-ailiasing issues (the HD preset will do that, you need to change it manually).
