Sorry to bring this non-video question over here, but I’ve tried in the Adobe forums (and they are next to useless in my experience). So hoping to get some Acrobat help here (which I use often in tandem with Creative Cloud).

I’m running the latest versions, and have the recent files to display setting set to 0, so they do not appear on the main screen when I first load Acrobat.

But on the left side, under “>Other File Storage > Your Computer” I have a folder list of where I’ve opened recent PDFs from.

This is not something I want, as most these folders either get moved, deleted or do not need to be pinned there permanently. Can I stop this behavior?

    Hey Lucas,

I’m not sure what the problem is, or more to the point what is that you want to resolve?

My workflow is that when I click on a pdf file, it will open in Acrobat. As such, I rarely get to the start-up screen.
When I close all my pdf documents down, I am left with a list of recent files.

If I select “Your Computer”, there is the last 5 folders where I have opened files from.
And, the big fat blue thing that says “Browse”, allows me to browse to a new location and open a file from there. That new location, then goes to the top of the list under the “Your Computer” tab.

If you move folders or files, it is likely that you’ll need to manually point to the new location to open them. But you can do that from within your file-manger, rather than inside Acrobat.

What I’m saying is, in the setting menu, you can easily set Acrobat to not display/open any of your recent PDF files. That’s how I want all of the app to behave.

The section I screenshotted is keeping track of a directory list of everything opened. That’s not what I want. I don’t want any of these folders to be pinned here. I want to just open what I needed on-demand and then have it clear (as it does with recent).

I just need to confirm that there is no way to stop the behavior or it pinning these folders in the “>Other File Storage > Your Computer” sidebar. Is this a “baked in” function that can’t be altered?

    Hey Lucas,

Still none the wiser as to why this is important if you close down Acrobat when finished, and open it by clicking on the pdf file that you want to open?

However, there are others with similar issues.

As I am not interested in losing my “recent files”, this is for you to try out:

Hope that in some way this works for you?

OK, thanks for the info. Just wanted to ensure I wasn’t missing a setting somewhere.
