I’ve got footage of people sitting at a table that was shot from a tripod so there is no camera motion. I also have 3d objects created in Cinema 4d that I want to place on the table. Can anyone tell me how to align the plane from Cinema 4d with the plane of the table top?

3d Camera Tracker in AE works great to define the plane of the table top if the camera is moving but it doesn’t work if there is no camera movement.

    Thanks,
    Dave

You could generate a grid and use corner pin to figure out the plane of the table, then place your object on that plane.
