    Hello,

I am working in After Effects and when I work in the Transform of an object, I’ll grab the position numbers and slide it to where I want the object to be. But for some reason this stopped working smoothly. Now I’ll slide the number, and the object wont appear in the new spot until I let go of the mouse button. It doesn’t move across the screen smoothly as I slide the transform control. Anyone have any idea how I can return to the smooth controls? Thanks in advance for any help.

Perhaps if you are able to show like a video clip on whats going on, I can analyze it better and see whats going on. How many keyframes you have in your animation? There could be some missing in between that seems to cause it to transform as smoothy as you wish. Hope to hear back from you soon and maybe I can understand it better with a video clip! Best of luck.

Perhaps this resource I found can help you a bit figure what you could be missing there: https://www.storyblocks.com/resources/tutorials/transform-effects

The performance is really slow, however it is hard to judge without seeing the sys specs and how much the CPUs are loaded. A couple of things to start with:

    1. Enable the RenderTime tab in the Timeline pane – there will appear small progress bars with number of milliseconds it took to process for each of the layers.

    2. Open the Task Manager Ctrl+Shift+Esc, go to the Details and sort the processes by their CPU utilization. Then, observe the load during your moves in AFX. If there’s constant load, see what processes run in the background, how much power is consumed by AfterFX.exe. If the load is inadequate/suspicious, run the antivirus.

    3. Update the display drivers.

    4. Try to run Afx in Safe mode. Go to Edit > Preferences > Startup&Repair > .. the section itself will give you some ideas what to do else.

    Best of luck!
