  • Double click on clip in Program window to scale and re-position.

Hi there… in earlier version of adobe premiere pro, I used to be able to double click on a clip in the program window and that would bring up a blue bounding box that I can then re-scale and reposition the clip and move it around within the frame… Now in Version 23, I have to click on the word “Motion” in the FX controls window to bring up that same blue bounding box… Being able to double click on a clip is especially useful if I have multiple clips within the same frame (picture in picture)… Recently I have noticed, occasionally I can double click on a clip and it will bring up the blue bounding box… But I can’t make that happen consistently… Any suggestions??

Have you also tried double clicking on the video preview window on the top right section? That can bring up the blue bounding box for cropping other than clicking motion in the Effect Controls. I did noticed double clicking the video clip on timeline will open a video source screen on the top left so it does not use Blue Bounding. So the first 2 options I mentioned should still be able to bring it up, if its not working or its glitching, I suggest closing the app and reopening it. If not that, restart the computer. If those 2 fails, uninstall and reinstall Premiere Pro to see if it fixes that issue. Good luck!
