Help me find this preset please
Hello, my name is matias. this last months ive been working on a short film and a friend of mine did the color correction.
sadly my friend passed away and with him all the knowledge he applied to my movie. i was able (through his brother) to recover some after effects files and im trying to finish his job (there are a few shots left to color grade)
i was able to reconstruct his workflow except from one preset he used that i cannot find anywhere. maybe you can help me find it
here is a photo of the preset/plugin. can you recognize it? or maybe you can guide me to another alternative 🙂 thanks
pd: the preset/plugin seems to create some type of filmic effect

That looks to me like Film from Red Giant’s Magic Bullet Suite.
It’s not a preset; it’s a third-party plugin. Here’s a screenshot of it in use in an older project of mine.

That said, I usually use those film tools inside of Magic Bullet Looks because I also like using Optical Diffusion, Halation, and Renoiser (the film grain simulation tool) inside Magic Bullet Looks together with Film Negative and Film Print to really get a good film look going.

However, there are a number of filmic effects plugins available for use in Adobe After Effects, such as Magic Bullet Looks, FilmConvert, and Red Giant Universe. You might try experimenting with some of these plugins to see if you can achieve a similar effect to the one your friend used. Alternatively, you could try reaching out to other color grading professionals or online communities to see if anyone recognizes the preset/plugin you are looking for
