  • How to import a Photoshop PSD file containing layer masks?

    Hi all!

Let’s see if someone has the magic for this, because I have been looking online and did not find an answer anywhere: it seems impossible to import a Photoshop PSD file containing layer groups with layer masks, or just a simple PSD with individual layer masks. After Effects disregards the Layer Mask, it does not even show it.

I have the latest version of AE, and latest of Photoshop…and can’t seem to have a way to import these layers masks, so my PSD looks totally different than the original PSD, creating a nightmare just to get the image to look right before starting to work on any effects.

    so FUN….

Does anybody know how to get this work?

    Thank you!!!

You reuse any layer with alpha as a layer mask.

Duplicate and apply track matte if need be.
