Hi, I’m looking for an opinion or some help please. I have created a preset for the Bezier Warp effect that includes controllers and expressions to give the effect mirrored or parallel symmetry. The symmetry can be selected independently on the Horizontal and/or Vertical axis. If symmetry is enabled, it will take coordinates starting from the top left vertex and tangent handles, and then apply those changes to the respective other vertexes and tangents. When enabled, only the top and left bezier controllers can be manipulated; the others are controlled exclusively by the expression. I have attached the preset here. My question is: Is there a way to write this so that, when symmetry is enabled, all of the vertex and tangent controllers are still active, and the symmetry remains intact? So instead of half or 3/4ths of the controllers being slaves to the expression, they all remain dynamic and the symmetry is calculated in both directions?

Hmmmm. I can’t picture how that would work. So the expression for each control would include its own keyframed value plus the appropriate symmetrical controls? I think that would set up the kind of viscous cycle loop that expressions can’t resolve. Kind of like when you try to create a radio button control out of checkboxes. The expressions end up fighting each other.

Thanks Dan. That was pretty much my determination too, but I’m not an expert at expressions.
