Premiere Pro Sequence Keeps Crashing the Software
Hello!
Ran into an issue with a Premiere Pro sequence, I’ve done all the usual tips/tricks but nothing can get this sequence to playback. I have other sequences in the project that perform like usual, but the main sequence will start playing back, video freezes and then audio keeps going on.
I’ve tried to create a new project, import the sequence, copy the sequence (which locks up the whole project) into a new sequence, but just can’t seem to get everything going. I’m working with proxy files and even have FX global mute on, I’ve switched the playback renderer, trashed prefs, ran adobe cleaner. I’ve started playback at other spots of the timeline so it’s not hanging up on any specific media/effect.
I’m running an iMAC 2020, 3.6 GHz 10-COre Inter Core i9, 64gb RAM, AMD Radeon Pro 57000 XT 16gb graphics card.
Any idea how I can get this sequence to be workable?

have you tried stripping out any filters, modifications to attributes, Essential Graphics, etc that may be on the sequence, and do you have any plug-ins installed?

I think I am having a similar problem. Either the image freezes and audio keeps going, or I get a black clicker effect before the entire sequence goes black and audio keeps playing. Another site suggested this happens because of chrome and if you have it open it will do this. You have to go in and change: System Preferences> System> Use Hardware Acceleration When Available.
This did not work for me but has helped several people. I have found that if I restart Adobe I will lose the last few edits I made but the flicker is gone. After that I can edit and add fxs no problem, until I add any title that has movement and the problem happens again. If I save all and reload I can see every thing fine but the problem instantly returns if that title is still in the sequence. Just audio. I tried rendering and exporting and I just get a green video with audio.
