I am working on a text animation, and I am looking for a way to break apart my text into particles. I remember there used to be plug ins that do this, but its been so long that it has slipped my mind. Does anyone have ANY information on this? I just want my text to animated off by breaking into particlces where i can just then have smaller graphics just animate up and out….

Have you considered using Shatter? How about Particular from Trapcode?

I was messing with particulr and got that working out just great. Maybe you can help me with another issue. while testing out the size of the particles, i accidentally hit ram prievew with the particles beign HUGE. I wasnt able to save just yet, but this thing is taking like 5 min /frame. Is there any way to force quit RAM Prieview without loosing my work??

I guess you’ve tried hitting the Spacebar? If you have, just wait a while, hopefully it will register and the RAM preview will stop. If that doesn’t work maybe you can take a screenshot of the effect controls window and timeline to remind you of what you did in case you have to rebuild it. This has saved me in the past 🙂

    thx John..

Luckily after 10 minutes of “not responding”, the main menu re appeard from a non responsive white out bar. A quick save and force quit on the app did the trick. Unfortunate, but now im back on track.
