    THE ISSUE:

When trying to run AE Scripts I get the following series of error messages – resulting in the script not being able to open/run:

    1. After Effects warning: ERROR: Access is denied
    2. extComms error, TypeError: undefined is not an object
    3. After Effects warning: ERROR: Access is denied
    4. Unable to execute script at line 1012. undefined is not an object

    COMPUTER DETAILS:

    Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor, 3600 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s)

    OS: MS Windows 11 Home

    Ram: 64GB

    AE VERSIONS:

    I’ve tried version AE 22.0 to 23.0

    WHAT I HAVE ALREADY TRIED:

    1. After Effects Versions: I have tried all versions from 22.0 to the current release of 23.0 – same result

    2. I’ve enabled “Allow Scripts to write files and access network” — enabled JavaScript Debugger, enabled “Expression Pick Whip Writes Compact English” and “Show Warning Banner When Project Contains Expression Errors”

    3. Disabled the home screen

    4. I wiped my computer clean and did a fresh install — from the OS to the applications.

    5. I’ve disabled the anti-virus and firewall protection

I’ve run out of solutions and don’t know why this is happening. Can someone help? Thanks!

Access is denied implies to me that the program is running without administrator privileges.

When you say AE Scripts, do you me the aescripts manager you use when purchasing plugins from AEScripts, or do you mean trying to run a script in After Effects.

Undefined is not an object suggests that the script that running cannot find a file / layer its looking for (Undefined) but is still trying to run.

What’s the script went to do?
