  • Preview not updating unless I move the marker or play the sequence

Why is it that often, when my projects become big (i.e., there’s a lot of footage or shapes, etc., etc.) I stop getting an updated preview unless I move the marker or play the sequence:

I can purge all memory and cache, close the project, close AE, reboot my computer, everything, but the fact is that my project, once it gets to a certain size, will no longer have an updated preview; which is rather annoying and time-consuming/wasting.

I don’t know if it’s a bug or if it’s a configuration issue. The fact is that I’m working with AE CC 2015.5 still because I can’t upgrade to 2017 because it has a serious bug with my Wacom tablet.

Has anyone encountered such an issue and, if so, is there any way to solve it?

I’m working on a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), 2,5 GHz Intel Core i7 Processor, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Memory, AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2048 MB Graphics, so I don’t really think I should be having these issues, especially when I don’t believe my projects to be THAT heavy. Sometimes, even having a lot of text over the videos will cause this issue.
