if you recently updated your windows then just go back to the previous version and it will work, that what i figured out after reinstalling everything on my laptop several times in 3 days

I’ve been getting many failures of late. Close the project that’s giving you trouble. Create a new project, create a new comp and solid, add a new version of Element. If it succeeds, close that project, close AE and then open the project you wanted to in the first place.
If it doesn’t succeed, close AE and start the process again with a new comp, solid and element. When you close this one you should be able to open the problem project.
I think there is a pref that gets corrupt. Starting from scratch writes a new one.

Ive heard going into E3d preferences within element 3d..and clearing the cache can help. ..Also if you dont know you can save after effects while element 3d is crashing by right clicking on the Ae icon from the taskbar and choosing a previous project.

Tried this once and element worked fine in a new comp, then tried to open the project that was having the error occur and I got the same message. Opened another new comp and tried adding element to the Solid but got this error message “After effects error: invalid filter ( 25 :: 3 )”
