i have some 23.98 footage, brought it into a 23.98 comp.
i created several single-frame sync pops at different spots with solids and the tone effect (i’m chopping up the footage into scenes and want syncs head and tail on all of them).
upon rendering as quicktime movies (i tried h264, apple pro res proxy and animation no compression) and even a png sequence, many of these sync pops disappeared; although which syncs appeared/disappeared varied.
not until i created a 24 fps comp and interpreted the footage as 24 did all of the single-frame syncs pops appear correctly.
    ideas?

You shouldn’t be seeing any dropped frames. Double-check your frame rate, maybe? 23.98 is really 23.978.

Yes, of course! Please ignore my braino above (sadly, not quite a typo). Thanks for the correction, Bouke.

well, “Mr 10 bucks”, it is indeed 23.976.

do you suppose when using that fps in a program that rounds up to 24 fps (toon boom in my present case), that it should be converted to 24, or used as is and exported as 23.976 when making the movie?

also i hope my laziness/time constraints don’t bite me later as i’m keeping the 24 conversion that maintained all my sync pops until i export it again back to 23.976…
