  My timeline is locked up – CS6

  First issue i noticed was my cursor shoots and sticks to the end of the time line when I attempt to move its position, and then it stays there. I can’t adjust its position in anyway. Try another comp, same thing happens.
  Then I notice I have lost all control.

  I can select a layer but do nothing with it, and often when I select them they fly to the right off screen
  I can’t collapse any layers to view or alter keyframes
  I can’t turn on frame blending, blur, hide layers, keyframe graphs… I can’t solo frames or lock frame – no buttons respond.
  When i try to type with text tool the text box is stretched to the right off screen and I can do nothing with it.
  it’s as if there is some force outside the computer pulling everything to the right.

  The only thing that’s responsive in the timeline is the parent whip, only it sticks off frame of my monitor as well and does nothing, and when I click blending mode the options appear away from where I click.
  Only the timelines are effected, all other windows appear to function.

  I have opened up every project file I have and it’s screwy on everything. I have started a new blank project and the same thing happens when there is nothing in the project.

  I purged memory, reset workspace, restarted computer, unplugged tablet, asked it verbally what the problem was, and I am update to the latest version.

  Anyone have any ideas?

  Thanks for the fast reply.

  Never made changes to the operating system. Latest version of AE is installed.

  I’ve been working on this project for several months now not altering anything on my computer, today it starts acting funny and then goes full mental…

  My only thought now is to reinstall AE.

  I was running version 11.0.4.2

  I reinstalled and updated and the same problem is occurring.
  Checked all other abobe programs and they are fine. Just AE.

  Had a friend troubleshoot and we found the solution but not the source to the problem. Something with the display screwed up that made AE think it needed to constantly reach to something to the right of the monitor… so my friend enabled mirror displays and then un-enabled. Everything is back to normal.

  Thanks for taking the time to ponder my dilemma Dave. The cow has helped me countless times.
