  FC shuts down

  FC is frequently shutting down when mixing and color correcting. It doesn’t crash the computer. It started when I was mixing: when I clicked Compressor or EQ check box it would turn off. Not every time but frequently. I spoke to 3 different Apple techs, 2 of them senior for a very long time. They were patient and methodical, went through many steps to try to figure it out without success.

  I just put up with it, no choice. Started color correcting and it began again. Frustrating, of course. It never shut down when I was editing. Never in any other program.

  I’m working on an iMac, Big 11.6, 32gb memory, media is on external hard drive.

  You can try to reset Preference.

  As Frank says, reset your prefs. Also, what plugins, if any, do you have installed and are they up to date?
