    Hi,

    See attached screenshot.

These are Element 3D layers with drop shadows applied as a separate effect.
Screenshot is from a Prores render, with a comp using 16bit and 4000 shadow map resolution.

Any ideas why this is happening or how to prevent?

Is it simply a grey on grey problem?

    Thanks!

    Thanks,
    Ari

ive had this problem before and it wasnt a codec problem…but i cannot remember quite how i fixed it..Maybe you could pre render with alpha png sequence and add the drop shadow to that?..do you have any adjustment layers or any other effects on the element layer..try turning them off one by one and see if it goes away.

Thanks for the suggestions. Noise helped a bit, but also added noise ????
Has nothing to do with codec or other.

Strange problem, but not worth spending any more time on it for me…

    Thanks ☺

    Thanks,
    Ari

Dave: What codecs would you recommend using instead of MP4 or H.264 to avoid these types of problems?
