I can’t point multiple TP groups to one Field Force object
I thought I’d break this out separately from my last TP Groups post, but I’m mentioning it because it might be related.
I have a number of TP groups I want to be effected by a Field Force holding a Volume Builder (in vector mode) and a Random Field. Pretty standard stuff so far.
The problem is, if I point the Force node for each TPgroup to the same Field Force object, the vectors in the Volume loose their smoothing and curl or get quantized somehow and all but the first TP group assigned go squirrely. Instead of lovely swirly motion I get drunken jagged straight-segment motion. But if I duplicate that FeildForce, VolumeBuilder, RandomFeild trio multiple times and point each TPgroup to their own FieldForce trio “grouping”, all works as it should. It seems silly to have twenty Field Force clusters to match the twenty TPgroups when the values of all the Field objects and vectors are the same.
Why can’t I “reuse” a single FieldForce cluster? The randomField isn’t even animated, so I would think that the randomized vectors should be static and available for all time and all objects. And, (being sarcastic here but only slightly,) one would think if this doesn’t work, why can I fire multiple particles through that Field at the same time (in one TPGroup) and they all get effected properly? Shouldn’t each particle need it’s own Field Force Object since each TP group does?
R24 on Win 7 BTW
