    Still experimenting… How do you go about getting your desired camera angles? I know this will take practice, but do you use the virtual X, Y, and Z axis controls, or do you do it numerically in the Transform panel? I’d like to hear some opinions about your workflows…

    Personally, I find the easiest way to move the camera is to create a null object, make it 3D and use the Camera’s Point of Interest pickwhip to link the POI to the null. That way i can position my null layer exactly where i want the camera to look and then use the camera’s position after that.

    Adobe added some new 3D camera control tools to After Effects late last year — well worth a look:

    I was playing with those a little – it still feels too loose and imprecise… I guess I need more practice…

    I’m old school from my Maya/Max days.

    Everything roughly by keyboard commands then refine keyframes using screen selection.

    Love the NULL option, similar to most 3D apps options.
