  Guidance to replicate this effect

  Hey Guys,

  Long time reader, first time poster.

  Trying to re-create this effect,

  It doesn’t look too complicated, I’ve managed to get a basic design down but I’m looking for a few specifics.

  1. Is it possible to have the layer transparent until light hits it? (The effect will be sitting over a landscape shot)

  2. How do I create the colour cast that there is on their effect? Would I need a plug-in?

  3. This feels backlit to me, where my current effect feels like it’s lit from the front
