    Hello,

    I have Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (CUDA) set in my project settings, and all my previews look fine when I look at them in the preview window. However, as soon as I render a clip, the result is constantly switching between GPU Accelerated and software only rendering. The output is consistently inconsistent: I can export the same clip 8 times and it’s gonna flicker exactly the same way every time. Here’s a short clip of how messed up it looks.

    Here’s an example that I had in a previous video I made. If you look at the partially transparent black image covering most of the screen, it flickers between the intended result and the much darker result that Software Only generates.

    The most obvious differences are for partially transparent images – especially transparent black over something else – and blur effects, both of which appear much darker under Software Only than they do with GPU Acceleration.

    Why does this happen? How can I force it to stick to GPU Accelerated rendering instead of flip-flopping back and forth and causing my video to flicker?

    Here’s what I tried:

    – Checking Composite in Linear Color in Sequence settings<div>

    – Checking Maximum Render Quality in the Export Options. This actually made the problem less noticeable but still present, but increased rendering times tenfold

    <div>

    – Embedding my sequence into another for the voodoo gods

    <div>

    – Rendering a preview first. The preview has the same issues.

    <div><div>

    Again, I want to reiterate, when I watch the video in Premiere’s preview window, it looks perfectly fine. This is driving me insane.
