Hi there. I’ve searched for this, but no joy.

I want to project a texture onto a geometry using camera mapping as part of an experiment into anamorphic projections – we want to test out how we can paint an office space with a logo or shape which resolves when viewed from a particular point.

In C4D I have a room with pillars in the middle and I want to create a perspectival anamorphic projection, such that, when I move the camera to a particular spot the image that is projected on the geometry looks like an ellipse, but when I move the camera to the side, we see that the texture has been projected and is “stuck” to the grometry.

The problem I have (hopefully illustrated by the images) is that the texture passes through the geometry. I want the projection to act like a film projector, so the geometry that isn’t “seen” by the camera projection does not have the texture on it.

I’ve investigated projecting texture via lights, but i want to give the impression that the image has been painted, raether than projected (which leaves shadows).
