  How do I make an image dissolve to square pixels like this

  Hi,

  I’ve been trying to replicate the pixelate and dissolve effect like the video attached. So far I’ve tried CC Particle Systems II, CC Particle World, Particle Playground, CC Pixel Polly, Shatter… but none of them seem to be able to achieve the result…

  You could use Shatter with a fractal noise layer as the custom shatter map, but I think this shot was done using Card Dance. Again use a fractal noise layer for the gradient and keyframe the effect’s X position’s offset to move the particles off screen.

  Hi Graham, thanks for replying, will look for the tutorials based on your suggestions. I’m just wondering if this effect can be easily done with Trapcode Particular? I don’t have the plugin tho.
