Jumping from CC2019 to CC2021, no prob with mic on 2019. Not working at all with 2021.

I’ve checked my OS Security settings: and only 2019 shows up here.

How do I get CC2021 to show up on the list so that I can select it? Or is there something else I need to do to get the mic to connect?

    Thanks

    Paul

Thanks, Paul. Good luck finding a solution. I wonder if your report is an indirect suggestion that we may want to stick with the 2019 version as long as possible.

Actually, that sounds like a Mac security issue. When you switch from the default mic input in PPro audio settings, it should give you a Mac alert that you have to click through to allow it to use different hardware. I don’t know how to force Mac to allow it, other than reinstalling PPro. Security in Macs have gotten ridiculous.

That’s what I think. I was hoping to avoid re-install. There must be a way to force Mac to allow this to happen. The mic settings were automatically set to the external mic: I selected ‘import preferences’ when I installed it. That’s likely where the problem occured as I never saw a prompt for security…

Ok I got it working. Not entirely sure how, but this is what I did:

I had previously set up an ‘aggregate device’ setting in OS/Setting?Sound. This AD included the external mic.

So in Premiere/Prefs/Audio Hardware, I toggled the input audio from the Ext Mic, to the Aggregate Device; then toggled to anything else, then toggled back to Ext Mic.

This did it. Again, not sure why. But it all works now. Hope that info helps someone.
