  Premiere style editing in AE?

  I am editing a video with lots of edits to a musical rhythm. The thing I love about premiere is that I can physically slice the video files and time stretch them individually to precisely match the music.

  The problem is my main project is in after effects and I am using some techniques in AE that are essential to the project.

  Is there any way to to premiere style edits in AE?

  No, but you could start your edit in Premiere and then import it for finishing in After Effects.
