  Speed expression for metronome animation

  I’m currently trying to animate a metronome. My reference is at 00:10 of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVOjKCztqTs&ab_channel=GreenScaleGuitar

  Right now I’m using this expression:

  spd = effect(“speed”)(“Slider”);

  rng = effect(“range”)(“Slider”);

  d = 60/spd;

  fd = d * 2;

  p1 = -rng;

  p2 = rng;

  t = (time – inPoint) % fd;

  if(t <= d) ease(t, 0, d, p1, p2);

  else ease(t, d, fd, p2, p1);
  The problem with this is that if i keyframe the “spd”(speed) slider, the animation will mess up and the stick doesn’t sway seamlessly, but rather have a jerk back movement before committing to the new speed. Anyone has an answer on how i can achieve the smooth speed down/up motion like in the reference?
