Avid and BlackMagic WebPresenter playback issues
Long shot, but are any of you experiencing weird playback issues with Avid when using BM’s web presenter? When I have it plugged in I get these little beachball of death moments where playback hangs for 10 seconds.
I have a six month old, fully specced out iMac running media composer 2020, media is on the internal SSD. I’m hooked up with clients over Zoom, and only use the main screen, no second monitors. So they’re seeing my full timeline and everything. I just go to full screen playback when reviewing cuts. It’s working great, apart from these little hiccups that disappear when I unplug the Web Presenter. Anyone any ideas? I also use premiere and FCPX in the same way and they don’t do it. thanks!

very strange, unless i’m misunderstanding your setup, the two devices shouldn’t have anything to do with each other.
My webpresenter is fed by a sdi distribution amp, fed from a BM card in the box. Avid really has nothing to do with it, except feeding the internal signal into the BM card. How are you wired up for video output?
