  audio noise reduction not working

  I have a clip with loud, constant background noise from a refrigerator compressor. I park the playhead at a section that is noise only, no dialogue, and open the Fairlight FX noise reduction plugin, drag it to the clip, click on ‘learn,’ and play the clip for 10 seconds or so. But I notice the purple line of the graph does not move, and when I listen to playback I hear no difference. I’ve read the manual and think I’m following all the steps correctly, but there is no noise reduction applied to the clip.

  I usually use iZotope but I just tried the Fairlight NR plugin and manual>learn works. I presume you remembered to click off the learn after playing the bit you want it to learn. Working here as it is supposed to.
