  Easiest way to morph and split a shape from play button to Sound bars?

  i’m trying to animate a morphing motion where the play button morphs and splits into playing soundbars. So far I haven’t got any good results and I’m not really sure how I should do it. Any suggestions?

  i would try cutting the play button into 6 strips. then morph each strip.

  or possibly morning the play button into a rectangle and animating venetian blinds to create the bars, and then another mask to make the bars different heights.

  Sorry if this is a newb question, but should I cut up the play button in Illustrator or is there any way to do it in After Effects?

  i would use illustrator, it has better path tools for that kind of job.
