  How to achieve better reult in Element 3D

  Hi, I have a question regarding Element 3D I am hoping someone can help out.

  I am trying to achieve a look for a characters skin / material. Most of the time Element 3D gives amazing results but in this project the results are less than impressive.

  This is one image that was made in Maya, while its good its not great

  

  And this one is made in Element 3D, not as good as the one made in Maya

  

  I was wondering if anyone can help or tell me what I might be doing wrong in Element that I am not getting a great result, namely with the specular, skin, materials. thanks

  Just for good measure, this is a result I got in Element, granted I followed a tutorial to get the results but it didnt work with the skin on the current model.

  Enabling Ambient Occlusion and playing with those settings is probably a good place to start. The environment and lighting settings will also affect the look. Finally, check out this tutorial which goes over some pretty good tips for working with textures in Element 3D (start around the 10 minute mark I think…)
