melding faces effect
Hi, I’m trying to achieve an effect similar to this picture

Basically, I’m starting out with a split screen view of two video portraits next to each other, that I then want to slide together til they meet in the middle, like in the above picture. My problem is that I don’t know how to make the halves of the portraits “disappear” into the border in the middle, so that the two sets of footage don’t just end up overlapping each other.
Grateful for any tips!
