Activity Forums Adobe After Effects Change a Comp Name in a .AEPX

The comp name is exposed as a string in an AEPX. You should just be able to give the comp a unique name to start with, then search and replace that string with a command line tool.

Alternately, you could change the comp name programmatically in Ae with a script (which can also be triggered from the command line).

    Hey Walter….

I searched and found a match within the Project XMP metadata

    (where FVP_slate_30 is my criteria)
    BUT…

changing this did not appear to change the comp…and thus the video file rendered.

however….I have determined that using FCP XML from PPro will actually work just fine for this project as the assembly is just a few elements….

so I now have that working…

since this will really be a template processed by PHP and then dumped in a watch folder for AME…the script based won’t really work in this case.

anyway….I have a workable solution….hope this helps someone else who runs into this….

    thanks!
