Need to replicate a radial ramp
hi, i want to duplicate this particular radial ramp i saw on youtube but dont know how to achieve it. https://ibb.co/cwxZw0s
i simply used the eyedrop to copy the brightest part of the start ramp and the darkest part of the end ramp. however it blends the two colors “too smoothly”. even with ramp scatter set to zero. i want the ridges to be kinda noticeable. i know that this happens on youtube because of how it encodes and compresses the videos. but im wondering, is there a way to achieve that look within AE?is there a way to maybe export the image still in a format that doesnt support as many colors (so the end result would be a poorer blending quality)?

Try the Posterize filter on top of your gradient ramp. You’ll have to play with it a little, but it should get you what you’re after.

Try adding an adjustment layer with the Add Grain effect. You can also try changing the project settings to 16-bit.

while we’re at it…in the reference picture i posted it seems like theres another light source involved (its especially noticeable when you look at a smaller version of the pic). but it gives it a nice 3d effect. what do you think it is guys? should i just mess around with cc light rays?
