Bar Chart “Shattering” Thru the Top
Hi! I’m a long-time reader of the forum and tutorials, but this may be my first post yet!
I’m working on a project that involves lots of financial charts. Specifically, some bar charts that the client wants to see “break thru” the top of the y-axis scale. (Here’s a rough storyboard of the animation.)
Initially, I thought I could use the Shatter preset to achieve this effect. My thought was that I would turn the Shatter layer 3D, flip it 90° on the x, and that would be that.
Not so easy, as I see Shatter doesn’t really create 3D objects, the way a particle generator would.
I toyed with creating the “ceiling” with a number of thin shapes and then keyframing them, but it would not be the ideal way to do it, as it would be so time-consuming.
Does anyone know of a reasonably quick solution to this problem?
